De maisrassen zijn bestand gemaakt tegen de herbiciden glyfosaat, glufosinaat-ammonium en DAS-40278-9.
2,4-D, een ingrediënt van dit laatst genoemde herbicide werd uitgevonden tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog en is een van de oudste herbiciden die nog steeds op de markt zijn. Het is één van de twee actieve bestanddelen van Agent Orange, het beruchte ontbladeringsmiddel tijdens de Vietnamoorlog.

One of the ingredients of the herbicide Das-40278 where these maize´s have resistance to, is 2,4-D and was invented in the chemical boom during World War II, making it one of the oldest herbicides that’s still legally on the market today. It was one of the two active ingredients in Agent Orange, the notorious Vietnam War defoliant. (Source).
