Wat er mogelijk toe leidt dat de gentechniek CRISPR-Cas ook in de biologische landbouw onopgemerkt zijn intrede kan doen. En dat kan een bedreiging zijn voor de keuzevrijheid van jouw dagelijkse boodschappen. De biologische sector, maar ook consumenten zijn tot nu toe niet tot slecht geïnformeerd en de beleidsmakers eenzijdig. Ondertussen zijn wij wakker geschud en gaan we er alles aan doen om jou te informeren en actie te ondernemen!”

In January 2023, German customs intercepted illegal rice noodles. The noodles, from Thailand, were made from transgenic rice, which it is illegal to import into the EU. Germany informed the European Commission of this new incident and the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) issued an alert on 11 January 2023. Source and more: see here

Weer illegale rijst in Europa.

In januari 2023 onderschepte de Duitse douane illegale rijstnoedels. De noedels, uit Thailand, werden gemaakt van transgene rijst, die illegaal in de EU wordt geïmporteerd. Duitsland heeft de Europese Commissie op de hoogte gebracht van dit nieuwe incident en het systeem voor snelle waarschuwingen voor levensmiddelen en diervoeders (RASFF) heeft op 11 januari 2023 een waarschuwing afgegeven. Nederland is het toegangspunt voor deze illegale noedels, maar het RASFF stelt dat ze zijn gedistribueerd in andere Europese landen: Oostenrijk, België, Frankrijk, Duitsland, Hongarije, Ierland, Luxemburg, Roemenië, Spanje en het Verenigd Koninkrijk. Comments:
We – the European GMO-Free Citizens and the Ekopark Foundation in Lelystad (the
Netherlands) – do not wish to eat this genetically modified maize. We want to eat unsprayed food that has not been genetically manipulated. This is also better for the environment.
Nor do we want genetically modified maize as animal feed. And we do not want you to put it
back on the EU market. If you were to approve it (which we would regret), we would want
every product and every end product to be labelled as a GMO, even if GMOs can no longer be detected in an end product.

Guess what? The boss at Thomson Reuters also just happens to sit on the board of Pfizer. Oh, and Reuters had an exclusive partnership with the World Economic Forum. Reuters journalists were invited as special guests. Also, Pfizer was at the World Economic Forum. It’s almost like it is one big club and you ain’t in it.
